Reviewed by Park Cooper DrMaster sent me the King of Fighters Art Book. And thus it is now appropriate for me to review it, so that you may have an outside opinion as to if you should buy it or not. I'm leaning toward the idea that if you think you want to buy such a thing, you probably should buy this one. I'm uncertain, however, why you think you want to. What might be cool, in my opinion, would be the King of Fighters Art POSTER Book, in which it would be easy to pull out posters and carefully unfold them and put them up in your room, because the art is quite colorful and dynamic and somewhat pleasing to the eye if you like loud aesthetic statements, as indeed the young are wont to do. This product, however, does not quite fit that concept: you must either somehow cut or tear the pages out (hey, it's your book if you buy it, just don't do this with a library copy) or else be satisfied with looking at this art in your lap. So, to review, let's examine how we got here: this is art of an Action genre, based on a manhua series which was in turn based on a martial-arts-type fighting video game. I declare the age rating to be Youth, because there is little to offend other than some fairly innocent female cleavage here and there and a little blood from one fighter's mouth in a picture (otherwise he seems pretty unharmed so far). It is interesting that this softcover book has a price on it of 21.95 in American dollars, and more interesting that the Canadian price is listed as 11.99-- that's some forward-thinking pricing, I must say, though, if not a mistake, it's probably a pretty accurate estimate of the way our respective economies are going... So. If you want dynamic pin-ups of a series based on the video game King of Fighters, I must say that this offering will surely satisfy your desires in an above-average way.
