Reviewed by Craig Johnson ”For a succubus, love can be a real nightmare…Maeve, a succubus-in-training, is sent to the human world to learn how to hone her skills of seduction. But things get a bit complicated when she sets her sights on Aiden, a smart by unmotivated student at her new high school. Meanwhile, the head succubus of the Demon World has sent a spy to make sure Maeve doesn’t step out of line. But between Aiden’s witchy girlfriend, his nutty best friend, biology class, and Demon World conspiracies, Maeve is going to be lucky to make it out of high school alive!” The Good: A reasonable first work from the creators, occasionally humourous, always light in tone even when dealing with events in the Demon World, with an attractive and appealing lead male. Good art, consistent characters, an enjoyable and friendly book. The Bad: An obvious early work by the creators, the pacing is a little off at times, it doesn't have that neat flow to keep you turning pages - it's also a little slow, you just scream for it to get moving on occasion. The cliffhanger is dire, it's obvious the second the mark and the bit about killing is discussed, and there's also plot problems with motivation - why are there Demons, why do you they *have* to seduce and then kill humans, where's the balance - which it is possible will be answered in upcoming installments. And The Ugly: The lettering, I hate the lettering. Not the normal dialogue lettering, but a really horrid, squished up font is used for captions and some dialogue, and it's totally out of place - it doesn't fit the word balloons, it's hard to read, it looks horrible. The Verdict: Not a bad start by any means, the potential is there, and whether the creators grow and learn and develop their theme will show whether they are the ones to watch in the future.
