PR: MANGA ANTHOLOGY FROM BOOMBOX Reported by Michael Aronson 09-15-2007
Boombox Media is now accepting submissions for the premiere volume of Shockpop World Manga Digest. This unique anthology is a collection of genre-blending stories all united by one common theme---the style of writing and art have been influenced by Japanese manga (comics) and anime (animation). Some of the contributing artists have also mentioned the influences of manhwa (Korean comics) and manhua (Chinese comics, mainly produced in Hong Kong and Thailand).
The publisher is looking for stories between 1-20 pages in length with completed artwork, but they will help with lettering. All stories must be self-contained---no serialized strips. Previously published material (including webcomics) is acceptable as long as the creators retain publishing rights, but this must be noted when submitting. Payment is possible, based on sales of the book.
Deadline for all submissions is December 1, 2007. The book will be published in early 2008 as part of Boombox Media's initial launch. For complete details and submission guidelines, visit http://www.myspace.com/shockpopmanga. |
