All About Comicworks:One question I've been often asked recently is: "Is Comicworks worth it"? This is despite the fact that I tone in greyscale, and uses ComicWorks only occasionally. However, it's a question lots of people are asking, and I thought it's about time someone came up with a review of the product.Important note: Since I don't use Comicworks overwhelmingly, this review isn't meant to be definitive. Instead, I approached it from the viewpoint of someone who is using it for the first time, rather than a seasoned professional who has found ways to adjust to it's shortcomings. In other words, I will concentrate on picking out areas where I felt Comicworks exceeded other graphics programs, and where I felt it could be further improved. But firstly, what is Comicworks? It's a manga-creating software pioneered by Japanese company Deleter, and sponsored (so I hear) by Monkey Punch, the creator of the classic manga Lupin III. The software covers most of the areas involved in manga creation, from pencilling to inking, toning to adding text; though how well it does each of these things is varied. The program retails for $100 at various online places, including http://www.akadotretail.com/shop/shop_showbook.php?id=se-comicw : : Next |
