![]() JB: With regard to how you structure a page and a sequence of action, I'd say your work becomes more fluid as they story progresses. Is this something of which you've been conscious? M.A.L: Yes, I wasn't really into the work early on, at least not the way I'd like to be. All new projects often get off to a rocky start with me. But after a while I was able to open up and do more creative panel arrangements and whatnot. ![]() JB: You're a cosplayer, and the costuming plays a big part in the visual makeup of Bizenghast. Do clothes maketh the character? M.A.L: I think so. I think a lot of times artists will make do with a generic outfit the way they make do with a less than three-dimensional character...because they feel they don't have the time to flesh it out. But I think clothing design is just as important as story or dialogue. |
